Patterns

Materials: colored blocks or beads or unifix cubes

Activity: Ask a child what is a pattern. Discuss what makes a pattern a pattern and how to identify one. Make a pattern by color or shape and ask the child to replicate it. What did they notice and why? Ask the kid to make their own pattern.

Activity: Make a beaded bracelet or necklace with a pattern of color or shape.

Materials: fingernail polish in at least two hues

Activity: Make a pattern using fingernail polish on fingers and toes
